Thanks for this Jason! I completely agree. By the way, there's a study by Forrester consulting which shows that if a page takes longer than 2 seconds to load, people start abandoning your page (starts by 25%! and moves up as it takes longer). So in average you have less than 2 seconds to convince users to "purchase" your product or they're out of there!

The restaurant menu analogy is great. We've all been paralyzed one time or another by too much choice at a restaurant. Should I get the burger? No I want the fish, or maybe the stir-fry.

As marketers we always have a fear of "what if I forget to tell customers this one thing?" But it's important to always think back to an elevator pitch type scenario. If you could only tell someone ONE thing about your company/product what would it be? What would be the most impactful and/or differentiating.

I saw a study recently that said that on average online you can only grab a net new visitor's attention for 9 seconds. That's a tough elevator pitch, but it's the name of the game online!

Thanks Talia! This is actually one of the hardest decisions as a marketer - which of the products features to omit from the page. I always admired dropbox's simplicity approach in their home page or pricing model.
